Rustic Red Maple House
Nestled in the vibrant Glebe neighbourhood you can find this charming red maple house. Its brick walls are sheltered by the expansive branches of the maple trees that have made this place their home. We created an outdoor sanctuary that matches the timeless character of this space. Our team upgraded its curb appeal with rustic interlock stone and garden beds framed by landscape edging that beautifully compliments its walkways. A patio gate was added to provide the homeowners with a more private entranceway to their backyard, and we also extended the tumbled stone interlock into their outdoor space in the back. Additional garden beds were installed in the backyard, along with a custom built shed that matches the home’s red brick walls.
Modern Heritage House
We know that your home is an extension of your own life, so it’s important to select design elements that truly reflect your personality and style. This homeowner had a goal to revitalize their front yard in a way that highlighted their flare for art and design. We brought a more modern curb appeal to their traditional home in a way that still compliments the heritage feel of the structure that holds many of their cherished memories. We offset the cool tones in the geometric paver stones they selected with red rectangular brick accents, and we finished off the project with rustic landscape edging to frame their existing garden beds.
Urban Industrial Terrace
Created for a downtown Ottawa condo, this custom fire feature brings the character of the city into an intimate outdoor setting. Inspired by the concrete accents found throughout the home, this fire table features natural stone, glass and patinaed steel for a refined industrial aesthetic. The natural stone top continues down one side of the table, and is finished with a precise mitered edge for a seamless transition. Patinaed steel wraps the remaining sides, introducing warmth and texture while complementing the modern glass flame guard. Connected to a propane tank, it provides a practical way to enjoy the warmth and ambiance of a fire while taking in the city views from above.
Contemporary Poolside
This poolside retreat combines clean lines and layered textures that complement the modern aesthetic of this Ottawa home. Cool-toned interlock surrounds the pool and continues through to the outdoor dining area, creating a seamless connection between the two spaces. A retaining wall beside the pool provides structure for a vibrant softscape, while a dedicated seating area offers the perfect spot to relax after a summer swim. Dark accent stones frame the interlock and garden beds, adding contrast and definition throughout the design. In the dining area, a herringbone pattern introduces a touch of visual interest, balanced by a running bond pattern surrounding the pool to soften the overall look. This space was finished with outdoor lighting to provide the perfect nighttime ambiance.
